In an article on the Brooklyn Navy Yard, The Wall Street Journal highlighted a recent report issued by the Pratt Center for Community Development, which identified successful strategies for economic development used in the Brooklyn Navy Yard that can be translated to cities beyond New York. Adam Friedman, director of the Pratt Center for Community Development, was quoted in the piece where he discussed the Navy Yard's overall impact on the city's economy.

The Pratt Center report, and its model to grow manufacturing in US cities, has been endorsed by Senator Gillibrand, The Bloomberg Administration, and City Council Speaker Quinn. The study, “Brooklyn Navy Yard: An Analysis of its Economic Impact and Opportunities for Replication,” is based on a two-year analysis by the Pratt Center, faculty, and students.
