Alumni Day

Pratt Institute celebrated Alumni Day 2018 on September 29, welcoming a wide range of alumni to the Brooklyn campus to reconnect with classmates. The daylong celebration featured a full program of events and activities, from interactive creative workshops and discussions to plein-air sketching and live horse drawing in the Rose Garden, a Campus Gallery Hop & Wine social mixer, and more.

The sunny weather provided an attractive setting for the alumni picnic on the lawn, and there were many opportunities for reminiscing, socializing, and networking throughout the day.

Among the day’s highlights were a fine art portraiture painting class and career and professional development workshops. Alumni had the opportunity to share their stories and memories at a video documentation booth. In addition, alumni toured Pratt’s on-campus galleries, which featured exhibitions from across the Institute.

This year’s Alumni Day was held during Family Weekend, giving current students and their families a sense of what it is like to be a part of the Pratt alumni community.

Members of the class of 1968 gathered in the Alumni Reading Room for a 50th reunion luncheon attended by President Frances Bronet.

Capping off the program in the evening was a Kentucky Derby-inspired “Best in Class” catered dining event that included a celebration of the 2018 Alumni Achievement Award winners and recognized Pratt’s 50th Reunion Class.

Browne (MFA Writing ’16), Thomas J. Hughes (BME ’65; MME ’67), Pascale Sablan (BArch ’06), Tucker Viemeister (BID ’74), and Margot Williams (MSLIS ’80).

Dancing at the after dark party
