Pratt Institute graduates are entering fulfilling careers in their fields while making a positive difference in the world. These findings and more are reported in the newly released first destination survey for the class of 2019. Conducted by Pratt’s Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, the survey shows that 99 percent of 2019 Pratt graduates were employed or attending grad school within 12 months of graduation, a percentage that is far above the national average.

Additionally, the class of 2019 reported on their postgraduate experiences, which included a high satisfaction with employment that reflects their interests, a balance between work and non-work life, opportunities to be creative, and the feeling of contributing to the greater good.

Recent Pratt graduates have been hired at a range of dynamic companies and organizations, including Carhartt, Dior, DreamWorks Animation, Hasbro, HBO, HOK, IBM, Peacock, Penguin Random House, and Perkins Eastman.

Pratt’s Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) works with students throughout their time at Pratt and beyond by leveraging their skills and strengths as well as deepening their understanding of how they add value to employers and people within their networks as well as their communities. This approach empowers students to gain confidence when writing a cover letter, networking, interviewing, and tackling other stages of their professional lives. Nurturing the skills of students and alumni gives them more agency to adapt to an ever-changing job market. Since the pandemic, CCPD has taken advantage of remote networking to expand these connections, such as launching a new weekly Career Day Friday, initiating the Talk Now series that linked hundreds of students with employers from diverse disciplines, and supporting mentorship programs across campus.
